Policies
Cancellation Policy
We understand that unanticipated events happen occasionally in everyone’s life. In our desire to be effective and fair to all clients, the following policies are honored:
24 hour advance notice is required when canceling an appointment. This allows the opportunity for someone else to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to give us 24 hours advance notice you will be charged 50% of the total amount of your appointment. This amount must be paid prior to your next scheduled appointment.
No-shows
Anyone who either forgets or consciously chooses to forgo their appointment for whatever reason will be considered a “no-show.” They will be charged of 100% for their “missed” appointment. This charge must be paid before booking another appointment. I do understand life happens, and emergencies do arise. With that being stated, please communicate with me if you have missed your appointment due to an dire emergency.
Late Arrivals
If you arrive late, your session may be shortened in order to accommodate others whose appointments follow yours. Depending upon how late you arrive, we will then determine if there is enough time remaining to start a treatment. Regardless of the length of the treatment actually given, you will be responsible for the “full” session. Out of respect and consideration myself and other clients, please plan accordingly and be on time. There is a 10 minute grace period; after the grace period a late fee charge of $10 will be added to the total price. Please note, any arrival that is later than 15 minutes will unfortunately be canceled, deemed as a "no show" and you will need to schedule another appointment.
Scheduling Policy
You can book an appointment 90 days in advance and no later than one week. This allows proper readiness. Anything outside that time frame will not be available unless you have communicated with me about it. I will not be taking any inquiries about appointments via Facebook messages on my personal Facebook page anymore about appointments. Please message my business page about any inquires. Once you have booked, a confirmation of approval will be sent to you via text message and/or email. Once confirmed and forms have been filed out, you will find that your appointment is booked. Same day appointments are not available at this time. Again, please remember that your appointment will NOT be booked until you confirm the appointment and the needed documents are filled out. This will have to be completed and confirmed by the 24 hour window of your appointment time. This allows proper time to look over any contraindications or accommodations if any. If not completed and confirmed we cannot proceed with the appoint which will indicate the appointment to be forfeited.
Bringing Others
For all appointments, please do not bring anyone with you, including children unless it has been approved by me. I do understand that not having childcare or other situations may arise, it's completely understandable. I will try my best to accommodate for you, but please remember that this is a business and the safety of my clients and myself are priority. New mothers and breastfeeding mothers are the only one that do not require permission to bring their babies.
Self Prep
If you wear contacts or corrective eye wear please remove them before your appointment.
• Please wear comfortable clothing, you will be sitting down for a period of time so you want to be comfortable.
• Please use the restroom before arriving.
• Please make sure you put your phone on vibrate, this is a relaxing time and environment for yourself.
• To minimize skin sensitivity before a wax or facial, please refrain from any use of AHA/BHAs, glycolic or salicylic acid or any other form of topical chemical exfoliant for at least a week before your scheduled session. This goes for any form of retinoid (over the counter or prescribed). Please halt the use of retinoids 3-7 days before the session.
** Please fill out all necessary forms prior to your session. It allows us to better assist and assess what is needed along with any contraindications that can arise **
Self-Prep Wax Clients
- Exfoliate: Remove dead skin cells with a body scrub, washcloth, or loofah a few days before your appointment. This helps the wax adhere to your skin and makes the process smoother and less painful.
- Shower: A hot shower opens your pores, making hair removal easier. However, be careful not to make the shower too hot, as this can dry out your skin.
- Wear loose clothing: After your appointment, you'll want to wear loose- fitting clothing to reduce friction on your skin.
- Avoid sun exposure: Sunburned skin can make waxing more painful. Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for 72 hours before and after your appointment.
- Hydrate: Staying hydrated can help reduce irritation after waxing. You can apply moisturizer after your shower to help hydrate your skin.
- Don't shave too close to your appointment: The ideal hair length for waxing is about the length of a grain of rice.
- Avoid alcohol and caffeine: Alcohol and caffeine can constrict pores, which can make waxing more painful.
- Avoid heavy workouts: Sweating can clog pores and make waxing more painful.
- Avoid AHAs and glycolic products: To help prevent lifting, refrain from AHAs and glycolic products at least one week prior to your appointment.
Self-Prep Facial Clients
- Don't Shave or Wax: Avoid shaving and waxing facial hair at least 48 hours before your facial appointment. Removing facial hair will make your skin more sensitive. You may feel discomfort during the treatment if you shaved or waxed before your appointment.
- Avoid Certain Medications: Are you using oral medication? Please communicate that honestly because certain medications, such as Accutane, are known to thin the skin. It's recommended to discontinue certain oral medications for up to three months before getting a facial treatment.
- Minimize Sun Exposure: Minimize direct sun exposure for a few days before your facial appointment to prevent skin irritation. Sunburns and excessive sun exposure can throw your skin off balance, making it more sensitive. If you must be outside, wear a hat and apply sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher to protect your skin.
- Take a Break from Exfoliation: Give your skin a break from harsh exfoliation for a few days before your appointment to avoid irritating it. Also, leave out face masks since you will get similar treatments during your appointment.
- Hydrate from Inside Out: Increase your water intake before your facial to optimize the facial's effectiveness. Well-hydrated skin absorbs products better, allowing the facial to work its magic more efficiently. Likewise, avoid sugary drinks, coffee, or alcohol.
